Resident Evil 3 Remake Art Leaked on the PlayStation Store

Rumors of the remake started a few weeks ago stating a 2020 release date. The rumors have now finally proven to be true as the existence of the Resident Evil 3 Remake is now basically confirmed. This comes from the data mines of the PlayStation network, which shows what seems to be cover images for the upcoming Remake. The images were spotted on Gamstat. Gamstat tracks additions to PlayStation Network, and on it can be seen as confirmed cover art for both the Japanese and international versions of the Resident Evil 3 Remake.

The cover shows the nemesis, the main antagonist/monster with an updated look from the original Resident Evil 3 which confirms his return as the antagonist. It also shows lead characters Jill valentine and Carlos Oliveira, a surviving member of the Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service (U.B.C.S.), with a snazzy new hairstyle. The remake also seems to have an updated look which slightly defers from the look of the Resident Evil 2 Remake.

Amidst all the speculation, it’s good to see Capcom is giving the fans what they want and to see the remake is indeed in development. Though its also no surprise Capcom is working on a Resident Evil 3 remake, based off the success of the Resident Evil 2 remake and Capcom’s history of revisiting the series, they’d be smart to cash in on the nostalgia trip of fans. Hopefully the success continues to pave  way for more amazing remakes of other beloved series from Capcom, like the Dino Crisis series.

The game’s official announcement is expected at the upcoming Game Awards show next week. Though it would be of no surprise if Capcom were to Reveal it earlier due to the leak. Aside from the remake, Capcom also has Project Resistance, now known as Resident Evil: Resistance, which may also get a release date revealed at the Game Awards.
