Ooblets Teaser Trailer – What To Expect

Ooblets is an adorable game that is set to be released at some point in 2018. This game is being developed by a very small team by the name of Glumberland and headed by the talented Rebecca. From what we’ve already seen, it has already been likened to Pokemon, Harvest Moon and Stardew Valley in terms of gameplay. But, Ooblets is just as quirky and different as it’s name suggests. With the reveal of its new teaser trailer, what sort of things can we expect this game to entail?

In the trailer we see examples of the different types of crops that will be available in game. Despite their strange and wonderful names (e.g fleeps, whatever they are), it definitely does have a Stardew Valley/Harvest Moon feel to it. Not to say this is a bad thing, it is a great selling point. Since both of those games have had a great following, I imagine the same can be expected of Ooblets.

Much like Pokemon, you have to explore the world, find creatures and battle them to level them up. It’s a concept that has worked for many games over the years. It has a turn-based battle style and, for me, resembles the likes of something like ‘Ni no Kuni’ where you fight other creatures and add them to your team. There is also a vast range of Ooblets you can gather that you can customise as well. And, who doesn’t love dressing up adorable creatures?

By the looks of things, farming and battling aren’t the only elements. Players will be able to go on adventures and make new friends along the way. With a full open world to explore, who knows what you will find! This game has a fantastic and distinct art style and to say it was made using Unity, it looks very impressive. I can’t wait to see what this strange world of Ooblets will bring to the table next. A lot can change in a year!

Ooblets will be available on Xbox and PC upon its release. Stay tuned for more news!

I've always had a passion for games and, since I found my passion for writing, I wanted to write about them. I'll play just about anything if I can get my hands on it. I have an unhealthy obsession with all things Star Wars and my motto is "Never apologise for being a nerd."
