Last week, we brought news about the new VR Doctor Who game called Doctor Who: The Edge of Time, you can read the post here if you want to catch up. Well, if you’re heading to the San Diego Comic-Con 2019 this weekend you can be one of the first people to play it.

If getting to San Diego is a little far, fear not you can still see the first looks inside the TARDIS in the below brand-new title sequence for the game.

Maze Theory spent some time in Cardiff, on the Doctor Who set soaking up as much of the Doctor Who atmosphere and realism as they could before coming back and designing the inside of the TARDIS. Working closely with BBC Studios so the inside of the TARDIS is as authentic as possible.

Hundreds of photographs were taken then using a technique called photogrammetry, they created a hyper-accurate digital reference of the iconic spaceship. Then the games 3d artists took over and after around 1200 hours, the TARDIS was finished complete with full controls and even the Custard Cream biscuit dispenser.

Maze Theory’s Creative Director Marcus Moresby said: “The TARDIS is a very important and hugely iconic element of the show and Doctor Who: The Edge of Time offers the chance to experience it like never before. It’s been a huge undertaking to deliver the very best TARDIS experience and is much anticipated by fans of the show. We know they’re going to love it.”

Will you be ready to take control with the Doctor played by Jodie Whittaker, and explore every inch of space and time?

Remember if you’re at San Diego Comic Con 2019, head over to the BBC AMERICA Booth (#4129) to get your first sneek peek, and play of the new content.
