The Division 2 Shows us How A Looter Shooter Should Be

I’ve recently reached level 30 on Division 2 and was blown away when I stepped into the endgame. Coming from the rocky state of Anthem and its endgame, Division 2 felt like a breath of fresh air, and I’m talking about a lot of air, more like a gust.

Let me start off by saying the campaign of the Division 2 is brilliant from start to finish, and never once have I felt bored or wanting to play something else but I never imagined that after finishing the campaign I would be launched into a whole new, freshly peeled side of the game in the form of its endgame.

When you make your way through the vast, sprawling campaign, which in itself is very fresh and varied, you will be moving through only a few places but you’ll hardly notice due to the good enemy A.I and varied design.

By the time you finish the campaign, you’ll be level 25 or 26 as you’ve mostly done the missions only leaving the side activities incomplete. You grind a bit more to hit that level 30 cap and then take a breather before the old map is peeled off to reveal a new faction has rolled in and that you have loads to do to get that sweet endgame loot. It literally blew my mind.

The Division 2 feels especially good for the players that came from the rough launch of Anthem, it almost feels perfect next to the mess of Biowares looter shooter. I love Anthem and I believe in time it will be a very good game but here we have the Division 2 launching in the state that Anthem should’ve launched in and we cant help but notice the difference.

The Division 2 gives you more than you ask for after reaching max level by keeping the story intriguing and laying on it the foundation to hunt for that sweet endgame loot. Yes you play through the same missions but a new faction, new motive and not to mention a special class unlock for you at endgame keeps things more than fresh. I cannot stop playing this game.

As a side note Division 2 is an amazing PC port which looks gorgeous and plus you get that sweet 60fps or even more if you have the rig. Highly recommended for PC but the PS4 Pro looks amazing all the same but with 30fps. Whatever you play this on, you’re in for one hell of a time agent!

Hopefully The Division 2 will be an example to the other looter shooters and we can look forward to more in the future.
