In the latest augmented reality game developed by Immersion, you take control of a large fleet of ships to take on large and powerful sea creatures. You can even summon your own fire-breathing dragon if you need a bit of help. Welcome to The Ancients AR.

Immersion took the art stylings of Jakub RÃ³Å¼alski’s as a basis for The Ancients AR. A game which takes place in a fantasy land where Ancients live harmoniously with three kingdoms that have been perpetually at war. If you’re thinking you’ve heard his name before, you might be familiar with his World of 1920+ series, that become the basis of Scythe. Though he has also produced concept art for Hollywood productions such as Kong: Skull Island.

Jacob worked closely with the CEO of Immersion, Piotr BaczyÅ„ski to ensure that his vision of a mysterious and immersive fantasy world where magic and sea battles come alive in front of the eyes of the player was realised.

The Ancients AR was originally only going to be released as a VR game when development began in 2016 – but once we realized that cutting-edge augmented reality was finally coming to iOS, we decided to initially focus on harnessing the power of ARKit and delivering the most visually arresting augmented reality game iOS users have ever seen.”
