Top 5 PC Games To Play In 2017

Happy New Year one and all! So, 2016 has been and gone and we were blessed with some pretty decent games. However, it is a fresh start and with it (hopefully) will come some brand new and exciting games. I really struggled to decide which Top 5 I should pick but these were the ones I just could not miss off the list. So, here are just some of the awesome PC games coming out in 2017.

This one has had my attention for a little while now. I am super excited for this mostly because I get to play an open world Tom Clancy game. A world where you can choose how you play. Knowing when to utilise stealth and when to just go in guns blazing. You can play it multiplayer; team up with your friends and decide the best way to take down a target. You can customise to your heart’s content. Build your character how you want. Use whatever vehicles you can find. Do what you must to become a Ghost. I think this could be a nice addition to the Ghost Recon franchise especially as they are trying something different.

I played the original game of Prey back in the day and it scared the absolute socks off of me. But now, I am older and (somewhat) wiser, the new Prey looks different and exciting. The developers have already stated it is not a follow on from the first. I can’t wait to see what they do with this one. Some of the features look interesting. For example, you can now upgrade your character and even gain alien powers. The aliens look terrifying but the graphics look amazing. And, it’s set in space. Beautiful space. What more could you want?

This one was a real shocker when it was announced towards the end of 2016. A Resident Evil game that is genuinely terrifying? And, it is in first person too? What is this?! I think reason so many of us are looking forward to this one is because it reminds us of the Silent Hill P.T. Although there have been a couple of demos released and a few trailers, there is little else known. It does have VR compatibility which will only add to he horror. This one looks like it could genuinely be scary. Reseident Evil 7 could very well be what saves this franchise after the last few games which were ultimately disappointing. I am most looking forward to playing a scary Resident Evil game that might also have a good story attached to it. We shall see.

So, moving away from the horror games, this one looks like a lot of fun. I grew up with the Quake games and Quake 3 Arena was one of my favourites. This is a proper FPS shooter with gore, ridiculous weapons and those classic characters we all know and love. It does, of course, have Overwatch to contend with but if it is done well, this one could be a surprising new entry into the genre. If you have ever played any of the Quake games then I know you will be excited for this one like I am. Much like any other FPS, it has its classes but these do come with a twist that make sense in terms of the lore of the universe. I will definitely be checking this one out upon release.

I know that this one has been hyped to hell but, damn it looks good. We are leaving behind the original Mass Effect series and stepping into a new story. The one thing I had to say about the Mass Effect games is that they had amazing story telling. Their characters were good, the universe was awe inspiring and the gameplay was actually fun. Having seen the cinematic trailer for Andromeda, I can happily say that I cannot wait for this one. I’m hoping that the reason they pushed it back to 2017 was so they could make the game the best it could be. I know many of you will be looking forward to this one too. Let’s hope it lives up to the hype.

These are just a few of the games that I am looking forward to in 2017. If there are other games that you are looking forward to please leave a comment. I hope you are all just as excited about the games that coming out this year. Happy gaming!

I've always had a passion for games and, since I found my passion for writing, I wanted to write about them. I'll play just about anything if I can get my hands on it. I have an unhealthy obsession with all things Star Wars and my motto is "Never apologise for being a nerd."
