NES Classic Edition Announced

“Relive the 80s when the Nintendo Classic Mini: Nintendo Entertainment System launches in stores on 11 November,”

Nintendo just announced their upcoming NES Classic Edition, set to come out November 11th for North America and the UK. 30 games are included with it, such as famous titles like Super Mario Bros. 3 and Metroid among many others, all listed below.  Unlike the classic console, it will be able to connect with HDMI to any modern television.

Nintendo have also confirmed that they will not be re-releasing any further games for the NES Classic, so the thirty games you get in the box is all you’ll be getting, unless they release a NES Classic 2 of course. The new NES is also not retro-compatible so original NES carts won’t work with the new NES Classic.

If you’re looking to buy one of these NES Classics, then it will set you back a little under $60 with the new NES controller running at $10 (if you fancy two player retro-gaming). Also, for anyone in the UK you only get the USB cable in the box, not the power block you need to charge it from the mains. This won’t be a problem for most people though as they come readily with most mobile phones.
