Flash Fiction: Terminus

This weeks flash fiction is based around these rather spectacular Russian photos, and some of them are pretty goddamn weird. I advise everyone to have a look at them, and just try to imagine the crazy-ass circumstances that would have led to that photo being taken. Anyway, the Terribleminds.com flash fiction challenge requires me to choose one of those photo’s and use it as inspiration for a piece of flash fiction of no more than 1000 words.

I chose this fantastic image…

…and used it to come up with this. I hope you like it, and want to click the little like button at the bottom or even better leave me a comment packed full of free and useful advice. :)

Thanks for reading.

Flash Fiction: Dead Memorable Part 2

flash fiction dead memorableAfter writing ‘Dead Memorable’ for a flash fiction competition, I was requested to write more. Well flattery of that kind cannot easily be ignored. So I sat down and continued the story of Max.

If you want to read the first part then you can get to it from here.

As always, I am interested to hear what you think, especially if you want the next part. (Although I’m likely to write it anyway.)

Flash Fiction Challenge: Dead Memorable

flash fiction challenge death writing story taleI didn’t do last week’s flash fiction challenge on terribleminds.com. I know, naughty me but I was determined to get back on the horse and take part in this week’s challenge Death is on the Table, where the subject of the flash fiction challenge is death.

Put simply the challenge this week is…

“You have 1000 words to write a short story that prominently features death. What that means is up to you, of course. And genre is also in your court.”

The genre is a little ambiguous. It’s a sort or supernatural, super-hero detective thing. If you like it let me know, if you hate it let me know, and I look forward to reading your comments.

Have fun.

Flash Fiction: ‘The Butcher’

male glass breaking tuxedo flash fictionI’ve planned my heart out today so the end of my novel is starting to come together. Unfortunately this has left me with very little time to write anything else. So in the format familiar to many of you, below are five words. I’ll be using three of them to write a piece of 100 word flash fiction.

As always, if you wish to have a go yourself or just leave me a comment, please do so.

Words incoming!

opera
crash

…and off we go.
