Mass Effect 3 out in Q1 2012 and there’s still so much for me to do…

The last part of Bioware’s Mass Effect trilogy is due out in the earlier months of 2012. Now, it does seem like a long time away and I guess for everyone who’s doing nothing except waiting for it, it is. For me though, I still have some playing to do. I’ve only played it all the way through from ME1 once so far, and that was the goody-goody two-shoes way. I’ve only just started the nasty Shepherd way, which I figure would be more fun.

In short, I bought ME2 first, played it through as bad, then bought ME1 and played it through as good. The elitist in me won’t allow the lone ME2 bad save game to be used for the ME3 storyline so there’s only one course of action open to me… finish the bad playthrough before ME3 is released.

The difficulty is that it’s a big game and I have to do all the side missions and companion quests, so it’s not going to be quick. Add a liberal dose of all the games I’m trying to find time to play at the moment, Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age 2, Lord of the Rings Online, Fall-Out: New Vegas to name a handful. Now throw all that into the giant mixing bag of games that are going to come out this year, Elder Scrolls V, Diablo III, Star Wars: The Old Republic . Not forgetting of course that work and the reduced energy levels of a 30-year-old will not be helping, and It’s going to be a struggle to get it finished.

As you can see from the trailer only taking a half-assed saved game through to the last chapter would be tantamount to heresy, so I need to come up with a plan to get everything (or at least, as much as possible) done.

After about ten minutes of frantic crayon scribbling that even most asylum inmates would be wary of, I came up with the following plan.

  • Step 1 – Come up with a Plan
  • Step 2 – ?
  • Step 3 – get them all played

*The above was an homage to the Underpants gnomes in SouthPark…which was also parodied in Dragon Age 2 by Isabela.

N/B. If you haven’t already guessed, I don’t know how it’s going to work.
